Hot August Nights at the District 5280 Picnic

Several  members of our club enjoyed a beautiful night at Seaside Lagoon in Redondo Beach for the annual District 5280 picnic! There were cardboard boat races, Korean BBQ, a Chili cook off, karaoke, and much more!! Our club entered a chili into the chili cookoff made by your bulletin editor, Janice. We didn’t win but my feelings weren’t hurt because the winning chili was VERY good and he gave me some pointers for next year!! The cardboard boat races were amazing!! Some sank right out of the chute while others made for very efficient craft!! Our neighbors at Glendale Sunrise took second place out of 18 boats! They promised to tutor us on boat design so we can make our own club boat for next year!!! We may need paddling lessons too! The evening ended with karaoke headlined by the Stacy’s amazing daughter, Annie! She even got salsa lessons from Julio!!! If you missed it this year, you’ll have to make plans for next year!!
