On Saturday August 8th, Master Gardener Sharon Springer from the Community Day School Garden sent out an emergency request to the community for people to come help weed the garden! The Burbank Community Day School is a school for kids that have had behavioral problems, low grades, attendance problems, or other issues that make attending a traditional school setting unmanageable. The senior at the Artists Colony nearby have partnered with the school to create a garden the students can grow plants, fruits, and vegetables in. They also have a culinary program where students can cook what they grow. The garden had become over grown during the summer and help was needed to ready it for the new school year. Phyllis and Janice tested their green thumbs helping weed and trim the planter beds in the Garden!
